On Courage and Curiosity

Over the last few years, I’ve been having conversations with community members, advocates, taco lovers 😉 and board members that are doing the good work of supporting nonprofits in our communities. And this year is no different because we do have some challenges in 2025 especially for communities of color, immigrants and those with limited resources. While I am not an inspirational quote guy, I do have two words or values that I’ve been sharing that resonate with me as I continue on this journey: COURAGE and CURIOSITY.

We all need courage to get outside of our comfort zones, allow ourselves to be vulnerable and talk to someone outside of our inner circles. We also need curiosity to think of new ideas, to be open to new perspectives and learn from people that are different from us. Whatever your role is in your community, I hope these words help you as you forge relationships, work in communities and pursue your passions.

Some of us may experience hardships in our communities AND grounding ourselves in our values and what we believe in. we can overcome anything that comes our way.
